The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department is excited to announce dates for the 2023 Girls Fire and Rescue Academy summer camp. This year we are offering two separate camps, June 20 – 23 and June 27 – 30. The academy is open to rising 7th through 12th grade female students for the upcoming 2023 – 2024 school year. Participants should be a Fairfax County resident. The program is completely free of charge.

Academy participants will take part in a four-day program full of fun-filled experiences, physical training, classes and Fire/EMS simulations. They will also have an opportunity to visit a Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Station to experience the everyday life of a Firefighter/EMT/Paramedic. Campers will have a chance to ask questions and interact with the on-duty crew.

Ashes2Art is offering a free Summer Art Activities Camp for all regional first responders and their children. Parents and children will have fun, creative projects assigned to them 
to explore and mess around with as a family. Kathy Sullivan, the creative instructor, will be available throughout the entire experience for questions, additional guidance, and support.
These projects will range anywhere from exploring nature and creating pieces to drawing/painting projects. We will gather via Zoom every other week as a group to share the results of the wildly amazing creative assignments that we worked on throughout the previous week.
Best part?! All participants will receive an all-in-one art kit which will include a variety of cool supplies to get your creative juices flowing! Totally FREE!
