On Thursday, September 21 at approximately 10:41 a.m., units from Fairfax County Fire and Rescue and Arlington County Fire Department were dispatched for a reported building fire in the 6300 block of Leesburg Pike in the Seven Corners section of Fairfax County.
Units arrived on scene of a three-story office building with smoke showing from the rear of the building. Crews located and extinguished a small fire in a second floor break room.
The building was equipped with working smoke alarms which alerted the building occupants. One of the occupants called 9-1-1.
Fire Investigators determined that the fire originated in a telecommunications closet located in the second floor break room. The fire was electrical in nature though the exact cause could not be determined.
There were no firefighter or civilian injuries reported. Damages as a result of the fire are estimated to be $25,000.
