4th Battalion – B Shift
Ever wonder how Fairfax County firefighters can quickly enter a locked structure and perform those vital tasks of searching for people and putting out the fire? By training each and every day under the conditions they will face, even on Sundays. The 4th Battalion hosted a Forcible Entry drill on Sunday, October 30 in which firefighters had to perform forcible entry techniques in their full protective gear and with their vision obscured to simulate the conditions of a smoke-filled environment.
Through an excellent relationship between Operations and Training, each Battalion is provided this valuable tool to simulate the taxing task of forcible entry so when called to duty our performance is flawless.
