This week is Fire Prevention Week. As you may already be aware, this year’s theme is “Don’t Wait Check the Date! Replace Smoke Alarms Every 10 Years.”
Many do not know how old their smoke alarms are. Others may determine the age of their alarms by the date on which they were installed — which is incorrect. The date of manufacture is used to determine the age of a smoke alarm.
To learn how to find the date of manufacture on your alarms, please take a moment to view the below video from our partners in safety at the National Fire Protection Association.
After viewing remember: don’t wait and check the date!
