Firefighters Make Visit to Children’s Hospital

On Monday, Fire Station 14, A shift, took time out of their day to visit patients at Inova Children’s Hospital in Fairfax. Captain Conrad, Lieutenant Johnston, Master Technician Kight, and Technician Porter went room to room greeting kids and their parents. They asked everyone how they were doing, talked about being a firefighter, and handed out junior firefighter hats and other goodie. They listened, laughed, and smiled in the hopes that their visit might help to brighten a patient’s day.

Although their time at the hospital was limited, they were in no hurry to leave. “We will take the time we need to make sure everyone who wants to see us gets to see us,” said Captain Conrad. “I love doing these visits. It’s one of the best parts of my job.”
