Fairfax Station House Fire

At approximately 9:30 p.m., on Tuesday, August 30, units were dispatched for reports of a house fire located in the 12000 block of Fairfax Station Road in the Fairfax Station area of Fairfax. Fire Station 32, Fairview, arrived on the scene and observed fire through the roof of a three-story, single family home.

Firefighters located and quickly extinguished a fire in the attic. There was no one home at the time of the fire. The fire was reported by a passerby that observed flames coming from the roof of the home. There were no reported civilian or firefighter injuries.

Fire Investigators have determined the fire started in the attic area above an upper level bathroom. The cause of the fire appears to involve a ceiling-mounted exhaust fan. Property damage is estimated at $70,000.00.
