On July 27, at approximately 11:58 a.m., units responded to the 7600 block of Wood Mist Lane for reports of a townhouse on fire.
Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke and fire showing from a two-story townhouse. An aggressive attack was conducted and the fire was brought under control. One occupant was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. There were no other civilian or firefighter injuries.
The house had working smoke alarms that activated at the time of the fire. Two adults have been displaced. Red Cross is providing assistance. Total property loss is estimated at $93,750.
Investigation revealed that the fire was accidental and originated in the kitchen on an electric stove. The fire was caused by food left unattended.
