On June 21, at approximately 5:50 p.m., units responded to the 14800 block of Cranoke Street for reports of a house on fire.
Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke and fire showing from the roof of the residence. An aggressive attack was conducted and the fire was brought under control. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries.
The house had smoke alarms that activated at the time of the fire. However, a passerby alerted the occupants of the home to the fire before the alarms activated. Two adults and two children have been displaced. Red Cross assistance was declined. Total property loss is estimated at $107,500.
The cause of the fire was a lightning strike to the home.
