Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Respond to House Fire in McLean Area

On June 16, at approximately 7:46 p.m., units responded to the 1500 block of Pathfinder Lane for reports of a house on fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke and fire showing from the roof of the single-family home. An aggressive attack was conducted and the fire was brought under control. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries.

The building had smoke alarms that did not activate. Two adults and four juveniles were home at the time of the fire. A neighbor alerted the occupants of the home to the fire. Total loss of property is estimated at $70,000.

The cause of the fire was a lightning strike to the roof of the home.
