Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Respond to House Fire in Centreville Area

On May 26, 2016, at approximately 5:41 p.m., units responded for reports of a house fire in the 15000 block of Sacred Lane.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the single-family home fully engulfed in smoke. An aggressive attack was conducted and the fire was brought under control. One firefighter was transferred to Inova Fairfax Hospital with a heat-related medical emergency. Prince William County Fire and Rescue Department provided mutual aid.

No one was home at the time of the fire. The owner of the house returned home to find it filled with smoke. The smoke alarms were activated. Three adults have been displaced and have declined Red Cross assistance.

The origin of the fire was determined to be within the ceiling space above the garage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
