On Thursday, April 14, at approximately 8:14 p.m., Fairfax County Fire and Rescue units responded for a report of a house fire in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County. The single family home is located at 6608 Oak Drive.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered smoke and fire coming from the house. Firefighters conducted an aggressive fire attack and quickly extinguished the fire. There were no firefighter injuries. A civilian sustained minor injuries.
One occupant has been displaced. Red Cross assistance is being provided. Damage is estimated at approximately $93,750.
Fire investigators determined that the fire was accidental. The fire was caused by an electrical event involving an electrical outlet above stove-top burners.
