Units responded to a house fire Friday, February 11, 2016, at approximately 6 a.m., in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County. The single-family home is located at 2704 Groveton Street.
Firefighters encountered smoke coming from the roof and second floor of the two-story single-family home upon arrival. Firefighters conducted an aggressive fire attack and quickly extinguished the fire. There were working smoke alarms in the home that activated alerting the occupants to the fire. All occupants escaped unharmed. Six adults and three children have been displaced and Red Cross is assisting.
Damage is estimated at $70,000.
According to fire investigators, the fire is under investigation.
