Units encountered smoke showing from the attic of the home. Crews quickly extinguished the fire in the attic and confirmed everyone was out of the home. The dwelling was occupied by two adults and two children at the time of the fire. The owner discovered the fire and all four occupants self-evacuated. There were three working smoke alarms within the dwelling, however they did not activate because the fire was located in the attic space. Red Cross support was offered but declined. Damage is estimated at $80,000.
According to fire investigators, the fire was accidental. The cause of the fire was a ceiling heater located in the master bathroom.
