Official Cause of Woodson High School Fire

The fire at Woodson High School was caused by a chemical demonstration during chemistry class instruction.

The fire was determined to be accidental in nature.  There were six injuries reported as a result of the fire.  Two injuries are serious and four are minor.  Five of the injuries including the two in serious condition are students.  The sixth individual is the school teacher who was conducting the class.

Damage to the school classroom is estimated at $7,500.
