VATF1 continues to work in the Clarendon area performing structural and humanitarian assessments in the community.
The team has met with local emergency managers and received assignments for VATF-1 to carry out assessments of local subdivisions and communities that have been impacted by the flooding. The team is working alongside National Guard assets and local emergency teams to conduct these important missions.
In addition to collecting data for a needs analysis in this area, the team is engaging with the citizens and providing humanitarian assistance to those in need. Team engineers have been busy performing structural assessment of bridges, dams, and other vital structures in the community.
VATF-1 has moved one water rescue component with swift and flat water capability into the Dorchester Co. community. This team is prepared to operate in this community for the next 36 hours and is housing and responding out of a local fire station.
