Three Juveniles Charged in Setting Outside Fires

Fire investigators have charged three juveniles with setting several outside fires in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County, Tuesday, September 8, 2015. The five fires occurred near the Wal-Mart at 7910 Richmond Highway, and nearby Creekside Village Apartments over a three week period in August of 2015.

Two of the juveniles are 14, one is 17, and have been charged with two counts of Virginia Code 18.2-86, fire capable of spreading, a class six felony, and one count of mischievous fire play, a class one misdemeanor. Several of the fires involved burning woods, a tree, and newspapers.

Damage was minor and there were no injuries.
