Outside Fire Damages Several Homes

Units responded to an outside fire, Saturday, August 15, 2015, at approximately 2:15 a.m., in the Centreville area of Fairfax County. The fire was reported at 14925 Greymont Drive.

Firefighters encountered fire from a woodpile, several outbuildings and a fence upon arrival. Firefighters conducted an aggressive fire attack and brought the fire under control in approximately 15 minutes. The heat from the fire also caused thermal damage to the exterior of two homes. No one was displaced. There were no injuries. 

Damage is estimated at $105,000. The damage loss reflects all properties affected by the fire.

 According to fire investigators, the fire was accidental. A wood pile caught fire as a result of embers coming from a nearby uncovered fire pit.
