Units responded to a house fire Saturday, July 11, 2015, at approximately 8:15 p.m., in the Annandale area of Fairfax County. The single-family home is located at 5629 Ravenel Lane.
Firefighters encountered light smoke coming from the roof and eves of the rambler-style home upon arrival. Firefighters conducted an aggressive fire attack and brought the fire under control in approximately 15 minutes. A neighbor alerted the lone occupant and his dog after seeing smoke, both escaped unharmed. Two adults and the dog have been displaced. Red Cross support was offered but declined by the occupants. There were no injuries.
Damage is estimated at $70,000.
According to fire investigators, the fire was accidental. An unidentified electrical event in the attic caused the fire.
