Units responded to a commercial building fire Thursday, June 25, 2015, at approximately 1:30 p.m., in the Falls Church area of Fairfax County. The building, a Wells Fargo bank, is located at 2903 Gallows Road.
Firefighters encountered heavy smoke coming from the front entrance of an end-unit building in a strip shopping center upon arrival. Firefighters conducted an aggressive fire attack and quickly extinguished the fire. One of the six employees in the bank smelled smoke and called 911. One employee was treated at the scene by paramedics, but was not transported. There were no other injuries.
Damage is estimated at $100,000.
According to investigators, the fire started in a secure ATM room near the front entrance of the bank. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
