Units responded to a high-rise apartment fire Saturday, May 30, 2015, at approximately 2:55 a.m., in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County. The apartment is located at 5850 Cameron Run.
Firefighters encountered smoke coming from the 15-story building upon arrival. Firefighters conducted an aggressive fire attack and brought the fire under control in approximately 15 minutes. Two occupants have been displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross. There were no injuries.
Damage is estimated at $120,000.
According to fire investigators, the fire was accidental. An electrical event within the electrical service feed caused the fire.
