UPDATE: VA-TF1/USA-1 Completed an additional 30 Structural Assessments

At the request of the US Embassy, assessment crews completed multiple structural assessments of various buildings including embassy staff residences, municipal buildings and high-rises.

The Task Force continues to move forward with the demobilization process with hopes of returning home Monday evening, May 11th.  Additional details will be provided as they become available.

The Team participated in aircraft familiarization training with the United States Marine Corp (USMC) on a V-22 Osprey.

Team members also conducted an OSHA compliant forklift training for eight embassy employees, most of whom are Nepalese.  This training not only provided an additional bridge between our team and the people of Kathmandu, but also addressed a safety and training gap that existed at the embassy.

Pictured below, crews from Fairfax, USA-1 and Los Angeles Co, USA-2 conducted site and facility improvements and repairs at the only functioning library in the the city of Kathmandu.  This mission was undertaken at the request of the American Embassy.  Photos provide by USA-1.

Please continue to keep the team members, their families and all those affected by the earthquake in your thoughts and prayers.
