Man Charged in Chantilly Walmart Fire

Fire investigators charged Brenton Carter, 22, of no fixed address, with multiple charges in connection with an intentionally set fire at a Walmart, February 4, 2015, in the Chantilly area of Fairfax County.

Carter was charged with burning an occupied building, Virginia Code 18.2-79; burning property of value greater than $200, Virginia Code 18.2-81; disorderly conduct, and possession of illegal fireworks.

The Walmart at 4368 Chantilly Shopping Center received approximately $1,000 in property damage. There were no injuries.

Carter is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
