Firefighters encountered heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear deck and roof of the two-story home upon arrival. Firefighters conducted both an exterior and interior fire attack. It took firefighters more than an hour to bring the fire under control.

The home contained an overwhelming amount of household items and other combustibles making it challenging for firefighters to extinguish the deep seated fire.

One occupant was home when the fire broke out and escaped unharmed. Smoke alarms were present in the home. Two occupants have been displaced. Red Cross support was offered but declined by the occupants. A cat perished in the fire.

There were no other injuries.
